Job Title : BNPL Accountant
Location : Doha, Qatar
Reports to : Finance Manager
Job Type : Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient BNPL Accountant to join our finance team in Doha. This role requires advanced accounting expertise and a deep understanding of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) financial processes. The ideal candidate will manage complex BNPL transactions, ensure rigorous compliance with local and international financial regulations, and optimize accounting systems for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transaction Management:
· Oversee and reconcile BNPL transactions, ensuring accurate recording of customer accounts, merchant settlements, and payment schedules.
· Implement automated solutions for transaction processing and reconciliation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Advanced Reporting and Analysis:
· Develop and maintain advanced financial models to analyze BNPL performance, including profitability analysis, risk assessments, and financial forecasting.
· Prepare detailed financial reports and dashboards, utilizing advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for real-time insights and decision-making.
Compliance and Risk Management:
· Ensure rigorous compliance with Qatar’s financial regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and BNPL industry guidelines.
· Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance and operational risks.
System Integration and Process Optimization:
· Lead the integration of BNPL accounting systems with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to streamline financial processes.
· Analyze and improve BNPL accounting workflows, leveraging automation and best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Customer and Merchant Account Management:
· Address complex accounting issues and inquiries from customers and merchants, providing timely resolutions and maintaining high levels of service.
· Collaborate with IT and customer support teams to resolve system-related issues and enhance the BNPL user experience.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
· Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of BNPL transactions, agreements, and financial records, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
· Implement robust document management practices to support compliance and facilitate efficient audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
· Work closely with finance, legal, compliance, and operations teams to support BNPL strategies and address accounting-related challenges.
· Assist in the development and implementation of BNPL policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
§ Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is required.
§ Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a focus on BNPL or financial services, including experience with complex financial systems and processes.
§ In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local Qatar financial regulations, and BNPL industry standards.
§ Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial management systems.
§ Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly desirable.
§ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
§ Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
