Electrical Engineer (MV Switchgear Specialist)

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Engineering:
Develop and review MV switchgear system designs and schematics, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Specify electrical components and materials, ensuring compatibility with MV switchgear requirements up to 33k V.
Installation and Commissioning:
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MV switchgear, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration.
Conduct functional testing, system performance checks, and troubleshooting during the commissioning phase to verify operational readiness.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform preventive maintenance on MV switchgear systems, identifying potential issues and ensuring optimal performance.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety protocols.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce and follow all safety protocols, working to ensure compliance with local, international, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
Keep up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and standards affecting MV switchgear operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, test records, and maintenance logs.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians as needed.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in MV switchgear systems up to 33k V, with hands-on experience in design, installation, and maintenance.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MV switchgear systems, protection schemes, and control circuitry. Familiarity with testing tools and software, such as Omicron, Megger, or similar.
Certifications: [Specify relevant certifications if required, e.g., IEEE, IEC, or equivalent MV system certifications].
