Job Overview: The Road Design Engineer Grade A is responsible for designing and developing road infrastructure projects in Qatar, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. This role involves the planning, design, and coordination of road construction and improvement projects, contributing to the development of a sustainable and efficient transportation network in the country.
Key Responsibilities:

• Road Design and Planning:
• Develop detailed road designs, including highways, urban roads, and intersections, using advanced design software (e.g., Auto CAD Civil 3D, Micro Station).
• Conduct feasibility studies, traffic impact assessments, and route selection analysis.
• Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Ensure designs adhere to Qatar's standards, regulations, and guidelines, including Ashghal's design manuals.
• Project Management:
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, government authorities, and contractors, to ensure project objectives are met.
• Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans.
• Monitor and control project progress, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Review and approve submittals, design changes, and variations.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Ensure all designs meet the required quality standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Address and resolve any design-related issues that arise during construction.
• Technical Support and Collaboration:
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and drafting teams.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., structural, geotechnical) to integrate road designs with other infrastructure components.
• Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in road design technology and best practices.
• Implement innovative design solutions to enhance road safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering is a plus.
• Certification: Grade A registration with the Qatar Ministry of Municipality (MMUP/UPDA).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in road design engineering.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in road design software (Auto CAD Civil 3D, Micro Station), traffic analysis tools, and project management software.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Qatar’s road design standards, Ashghal guidelines, and international best practices.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements:

• Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Licenses: Valid Qatar driving license is preferred.
