About The Role:
Reporting to a Technical Product Development Lead, a Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for fleshing out application requirements within the end-to-end vision and roadmap of Re X workflow platforms. The BA works closely with the business owners of the capabilities to understand the needs of individual businesses; collates the requirements into a single set; and determines commonalities and differences; and translates requirements to a form that can be developed, usually user stories. The BA also plays a key role in User Acceptance Testing of the requirements that they helped to capture.


Combining the Wiley business needs, the industry and the vendor landscape, plus the advances in technology, the BA develops the domain expertise for the Content capabilities he/she is working on.


Partnering with the Business, Solution Architecture, Information Modelling, Developer and QA teams, the BA contributes to the elaboration of detailed requirements, UAT and delivery of the capabilities.


About the team:
The Re X team at Wiley is responsible for managing and improving the Research Exchange (Re X) platform. This platform is designed to streamline the manuscript submission process for authors, making it more efficient and user-friendly.


How You Will Make An Impact:


Business Requirements Elaboration:

• Work closely with the colleagues in Wiley Technology and Wiley Content Management teams to understand pain points and develop the best approaches addressing them
• Understand the existing capabilities within Wiley content workflows to ensure the business is taking full advantage of what has been implemented and integrated.

Responsibility for Quality of Delivery:

• Working with developers and Quality Assurance colleagues to prioritize any bugs that are found through the QA process
• Writing user acceptance test cases and acting as an expert tester and reference for business testers during user acceptance procedures for newly developed capabilities and features
Working with colleagues in Quality Assurance to triage user acceptance feedback, and working with the business to characterise and prioritize improvements raised through this process.

What We Look For:

• Prior Experience working in the position of system/business analyst for an IT company or technology dept during the last two years;
• Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle and processes (experience in Agile development approach);
• Broad experience in MS Office, Jira, Confluence or analogs.
• Strong skills and broad experience in UML to process description.
• Desire to grow in system/business analysis as a professional.
• Experience in creation of technical specifications, business requirements and other documentation required in software development
• Good understanding of technology and ability to translate the business needs into concrete capabilities
• Grace under pressure; clear and unbiased thinking
• Willingness and ability to embrace change and to adapt new strategies on the fly
Ability to influence without authority, gather input
