As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products and services that support this mission.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will help us build and maintain these tools and services, using the latest technologies and best practices. You will be collaborating with our product leads and development teams to improve the quality and functionality of the platform.

With the help of our editors, we focus on serving our authors while preserving robust publishing standards and editorial integrity.


About the role:
The role has overall responsibility for the creation and coordination of solutions that cover the Content Creators ecosystem. This ecosystem includes capabilities around Article Submission (the Research Exchange/Re X application), Article Transfer (Rex Transfer), License Signing and Open Access Payments (the Author Services application) and Open Access Fund Management (the Wiley Open Access Dashboard / WOAD & Oable applications).


Our Stack:

• Java 17, Selenide for UI and Rest Assured for API.
• JUnit and Test NG.
• Test Containers are used for integration tests.
• Jenkins for running tests, Allure for reporting.
• The code is on Git Hub.
• Microservice architecture, communication via HTTP and JMS.
Monitoring via Kibana and Dynatrace.

How you will make an impact:

• Develop and maintain a set of automated tests for WEB services;- Work as part of Scrum team (PO, Dev, QA);
• Actively interact with developers and determine the best approach to testing;
• Work with other team members to analyze business requirements, plan, formulate and achieve goals within iterations;
• Participate with other teams in quarterly program increment planning, achieve business goals;
• Most tasks involve writing code, manual testing may be used for exploratory testing;
Initiative, willingness to provide reasoned opinions and suggestions for improvement in testing approaches, development and the system as a whole are welcomed.

What we look for:

• Experience in manual and automated testing;
• Knowledge of Java (syntax, OOP, Collections framework, multithreading basics);
• Understanding of software development processes and testing methods;
• Sharing the ideas of shift-left testing approach and desire to develop in this direction;
• Understanding of the principles of web-applications.
Ability to understand the work of the service using English-language documentation;

Nice to have skills:

• Knowledge of Spring Framework basics;
• Experience with SQL \ No SQL DB at the level of query writing;
• Experience with AWS infrastructure;
English for written and verbal communication.
