Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development & Account Manager to join our team. This role is crucial to driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and cultivating long-term client relationships in the DACH region. You will be responsible for both farming existing accounts—ensuring growth through strategic account management—and hunting for new business opportunities by identifying and closing new clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Manage and grow existing client relationships by deeply understanding their business needs, challenges, and goals;
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within current accounts to drive additional revenue streams;
- Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction;
- Develop and execute account growth strategies to maximize retention and expansion;
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product development, delivery) to ensure timely project execution and client satisfaction;
- Prepare and present regular account reviews and performance reports to clients, providing insights into software solutions that address their business challenges.
- Research and identify new business opportunities (new logos) within the DACH region, focusing on industries that align with the company’s offerings;
- Generate new leads through a combination of cold outreach, networking, and attending industry events in the region;
- Conduct market research to understand regional trends, competitor activities, and customer pain points, using this information to shape the sales strategy;
- Develop tailored sales proposals and presentations for prospective clients, clearly demonstrating the value of the company’s software services;
- Negotiate and close new business deals, ensuring alignment with the company's profitability and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to define regional sales targets and strategic growth initiatives for both farming and hunting efforts;
- Contribute to sales forecasting and planning, providing accurate insights into sales pipeline and revenue growth;
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline, and key performance indicators using CRM systems.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights and tailored solutions to clients based on your understanding of their unique business challenges;
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions meet client expectations and align with their technical requirements;
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technological developments to offer innovative solutions that drive business value for clients.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, account management, or sales in the software industry;
- Demonstrated success in farming existing accounts and hunting for new business (preferably in Romania and DACH region);
- Strong understanding of the software industry and the ability to tailor value propositions to different client needs;
- Fluency English essential, German is a plus;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a strong customer-focused mindset;
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles, from lead generation to closing deals;
- Knowledge of CRM tools and sales analytics platforms for tracking and reporting purposes.
