Business Intelligence Engineer

For this role:

We are looking for someone with a technical leadership background and with strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will work alongside a team of other accomplished engineers and architects, delivering complex data-driven projects across various products to bring value together to our partner who has a 40% market share of retail travel worldwide.

Responsibilities:

Conduct data analysis to understand dependencies and business context, and actively participate in feature engineering
Perform data integration tasks, including ingestion and transfers
Develop data models with consideration for reporting and visualization needs
Optimize performance and quality by adhering to best practices
[Potential Future Responsibility] Provide technical leadership, including PR reviews, team feedback, collaboration with the Product Owner to assess technical feasibility, design solutions for complex requests, maintain an overview of the entire ecosystem and architecture, and manage small projects alongside the TL Chapter

What We're Looking For:

Mandatory:

Proficiency with the SQL Server product family, including SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS/Paginated Reports.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure resources, such as Azure SQL, ADF, Logic Apps, and CI/CD practices.
Expertise in Power BI, particularly with Premium features, data modeling, and report building.

Preferred (Willing to Learn):

Experience with DAX for Power BI.
Familiarity with Data Warehouse (DW) data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema) and querying data warehouses.
Knowledge of Databricks SQL is a plus.
Very good German communication skills
