As an Executive Pastry Chef, you will:

Be accountable for the overall success of the daily pastry operations;
Exhibit creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas ;
Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget;
Supervise all pastry areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced;
Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in pastry preparation;
Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example;
Develop, design, or create new ideas and items for pastry kitchen;
Assist the Executive Chef with menu development associated with pastry;
Assist in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays;
Set and support achievement of culinary goals associated with pastry products including performance goals, budget goals, and team goals.

Our most successful Executive Pastry Chef is someone who has:

Creativity, flair, the ability to provide guidance to others and be able to evidence good business acumen, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic;
2 years previous experience as an Executive Pastry Chef along with 5 years’ experience in the pastry area of a large luxury hotel operation;
Excellent leadership skills with ability to develop and coach his/her team;
Ability to run all aspects of the Pastry Kitchen;
Strong business acumen - able to manage labor, food and other operational cost.
