Sr SQL QA Engineer

Responsibilities:
The QA team is responsible for testing services and/or tools to support an internal 3rd party data catalog (Collibra) – a layer on top of our existing data assets that allows users to consume object and schema information regardless of where it is managed within the organization. Tooling/Services will include the interconnection from the data catalog to the data fabric (Google Cloud Platform) and configuring role permissions between the catalog and the fabric.
Responsibilities include:
Defining quality standards and metrics for the current project/product : Working with all stakeholders to ensure that the quality metrics is reviewed, closed and adhered to. Keep raising the bar and standards of all the quality processes with every project.
Defining Testing Strategies : Planning and scheduling several milestones and tasks. Ensuring all relevant tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking. Continuous focus towards automation along with rigorous manual testing.
Process Improvements : Thinking of continuous innovation. Create milestones for yearly improvement projects and set. Work with the development team to ensure that the quality engineers get apt support like automation hooks or debug builds wherever and whenever possible.
Automation to Improve Efficiency and Coverage: Ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks and solution.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's/PG degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
6+ years of strong experience in QA - DB side testing
Deep understanding of REST API and OOP principles
Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server & Postgre SQL)
Strong knowledge in GCP and its services
Strong knowledge in Big Data technology
Strong knowledge of SQL, Hive, Spark SQL, and experienced in executing Analytical SQL Hive queries on variety of platforms like HDFS, Postgres, Data bricks etc.
Experience in writing complex SQL scripts, Stored procedures, Integration packages
Experience in tuning and improving DB performance of complex enterprise class applications
Working knowledge of cloud-based tooling (AWS, Docker & Kubernetes, Okta)
Experience with cloud-based software change management tools (Azure Dev Ops & Git Hub)
Strong knowledge on coding skills in any programmatic language, preferable Python
Develop comprehensive test strategy, test plan and test cases to test big data implementation
Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, QA methodologies, defect management system, and documentation
Proficiency in Selenium Web Driver with Python or Java, including the ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks. Experience in automating backend applications, databases, ETLs, APIs, and cloud services, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring security and compliance testing for cloud-based applications.
Good at setting Quality standards in various new testing technologies in the industry
Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Capable of authoring slides for senior management presentations Nice to have Qualifications and Skills:
Hands-on experience with ETL / data pipeline testing
Experience with Javascript or Typescript and front-end technologies like React.js or Blazor
Experience with OData
Experience working within the bureaucracy of a large Global corporation to accomplish goals.
