Workplace Designer Internship
Limited contract: 12 months, 8h/day

Location: Cluj, Romania

We are looking for a passionate and creative Interior Design Intern to join our dynamic Workplace Design team at Steelcase in Cluj. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful, real-world projects that shape the future of workplace environments for some of our most important clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). If you are enthusiastic about interior design, enjoy crafting thoughtful and innovative solutions, and have a keen interest in how spaces influence work culture, this could be the perfect role for you.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in workplace design while collaborating with talented professionals such as 3D Visualizers, Design Consultants, Graphic Designers, and Sales Teams. You will be part of a vibrant, creative environment where your ideas are valued, and you'll be able to develop your skills as part of a collaborative effort to create tailored workplace solutions for our clients.

What You Will Be Doing

The Workplace Design team's mission is to help win new business in the EMEA region by demonstrating how Steelcase solutions enhance the workspace, making them more functional and engaging for employees.
As part of this team, your role will involve:

Translate client needs and Steelcase insights into creative workplace design solutions.
Support the creation of industry-leading deliverables that differentiate Steelcase.
Assist in developing renderings, space plans, and concept designs for key projects.
Collaborate with teams in Cluj and Munich to deliver final presentations and materials.
Work with Design Consultants to ensure consistent, market-aligned deliverables.
Prepare 3D visualizations and space plans that reflect workplace environments.
Partner with EMEA sales teams to align design solutions with client needs.
Build relationships and expand expertise within the design community.

Who You Are

Required Skills and Competencies:

Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of design tools (CAD, Adobe Creative, or similar).
Strong communication skills—able to express ideas clearly through visuals and written materials.
Curious, eager to learn, and able to work in a team-oriented environment.
Good command of English.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

Experience with space planning or 3D visualizations.
Familiarity with workplace design concepts.
Additional languages like German or French are a plus.
Exposure to multicultural working environments.
