We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual to join our team as a Manager - Patch Management. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the patch management lifecycle across our IT infrastructure, ensuring that all systems, applications, and devices remain secure and up-to-date.
Your expertise will play a vital role in minimizing vulnerabilities and maximizing the efficiency of our technology assets. You will collaborate with IT teams to develop strategies for timely patch deployment and manage the overall compliance of software and systems.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess patches from software vendors or internal sources.
- Examine the effects of patches on existing systems and prioritize their rollout based on urgency, impact, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Work closely with the Governance, Cyber, Operations, and Managed Service teams to test patches in a controlled environment (IT Lab – Testing Environment) before they are deployed, depending on the technology and functionality involved.
- Ensure that patches do not introduce new issues or conflicts with pre-existing systems.
- Plan and execute the deployment of patches across different environments (development, testing) before moving them to production.
- Monitor the status of patch deployments and address any issues that arise during the process.
- Comply with all change and risk management policies and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation of all patches (MOP).
- Ensure all systems stay up-to-date with the latest patches to meet regulatory and security standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of patch deployments and prepare reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Identify potential risks associated with each patch and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on production environments.
- Conduct post-patch assessments to capture lessons learned and improve future patch processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for all communications regarding patches.
- Keep thorough documentation of the patch management process, which includes patch notes, rollback strategies, and issue logs.
- Continuously review and enhance patch management processes and procedures.
- Utilize automation and best practices to boost efficiency, reduce errors, and improve deployment reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 6–9 years of experience in IT security and patch management
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or specific certifications related to patch or release management are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing software updates and releases within complex IT environments.
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) tools and software deployment applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to evaluate risks and create mitigation strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills, adept at juggling multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in utilizing patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM).
- Thorough understanding of patch management processes, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure in relation to patching and releases.
- Familiarity with Network/Security patching mechanisms and best practices.
