Altara Ventures is a leading early-stage venture capital firm based in Southeast Asia. We are looking for a dynamic, down-to-earth and passionate candidate with a can-do spirit to join our investment team in the mission to back next generation entrepreneurs.
Your primary focus will be on deal sourcing, screening, assessment and due diligences. The ideal candidate will already be plugged into local founders’ community or can quickly build such a network within reasonable timeframe. You will also have the opportunity to contribute across the end-to-end investment cycle – from research & analysis to sourcing, screening, due diligences, deal execution and portfolio management.

Detailed Job Description
- Actively be in the market, building strong and lasting network with founders and other key stakeholders within the venture and startup community
- Be known as the primary ‘go-to’ person for first point of contact within market
- Be on top of key trends and movements across the ecosystem
- Proactive sourcing and screening of opportunities, ensuring good coverage of focus sectors
- Provide support on: (a) industry and thematic research; (b) deal pipeline generation and management; (c) business & competitive analyses, due diligences and financial modelling on live deals; (d) investment memo and presentation preparation; and (e) deal execution
- Assist in portfolio management, value add and growth
- Portfolio reporting preparation
- You like to meet, engage and build relationships with founders and the broader startup community
- Sound business judgement, ability to handle financial modelling and analysis
- Entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude and proactive team player who can multi-task
- Passion for technology and innovation; curious, good analytical skills, detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture as well
- Bachelor in Business/Finance/Economics/Engineering
- 4 to 6+ years of overall experience across a combination of venture capital, investment banking, management consulting and/or top tier tech companies required
- Minimum 2+ years of direct investing experience preferred
- Fluency in one or more Southeast Asian languages a plus; Familiarity with Southeast Asia
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
