The successful candidate will assist in the support of Asia Pacific clients and work closely with our headquarter team in Germany as well as KOCH Asia Pacific team. Position Responsibilities:


1. Summary


Provide support to KOCH's Asia Pacific customer base through on-site installations, testing, machine commissioning, machine analysis, re-tooling and retrofits, assist with testing and troubleshooting of our proprietary machinery. To support sales efforts related to machine installations and field service activities.

3. Essential Duties

• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and repairs on new and

used packaging machines at select customer’s facilities predominantly throughout Asia Pacific and possibly other regions on an as required basis.

• Coordinate installation on our proprietary machinery at client location and consult with

customers on technical issues.

• Monitor system performance to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications /requirements.

• Consult with customer concerning installation, preventive maintenance, inspections and use of proprietary software system, including providing support to customers.

• Telephone support and evaluation of customer issues to help troubleshoot and/or collect

key information for review by senior service staff.

• Assist in preparing lists of required components for service support proposals, identify

customer needs and define requirements, accordingly, applying advanced technical knowledge of KOCH’s proprietary machinery and associated hardware.

• Occasional travels to Germany manufacturing facility for training, knowledge exchange

and ongoing customer relations.

• Communicate with various departments within Singaporean office and headquarters in Germany to gather required information for proper customer support.

• Assist in evaluating the needs for spare parts and/or components at customers’ site, liaise with Germany Service Department for the preparation of spare parts quote and follow up with customers.

• Responsible for the setting up and dismantling of machine(s) at marketing activities such as exhibitions and trade fairs. Assist in the logistical arrangements in support of the marketing activities.

• To submit a monthly summary of activities for review and issue resolution.
  

4. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with installation and servicing of packaging machinery or

other large capital manufacturing production equipment

• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.

• Knowledge / understanding of computerized machine control systems.

• Must be able to travel and sometimes at short advance notice

• Pleasant personality required to engage customers to deliver excellent service

• Ability to work under minimal supervision

• Must have excellent written / oral communication skills

• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position

• Occasionally must lift, move and carry up to 5 kg

• Frequently works near moving equipment and electrical current
  

5. Education, Experience and Special Requirements


Education: Minimum Diploma/ITE in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years hands on experience with strong electromechanical aptitude, machine assemblies and start-up of industrial automation machines.
Experience on machines working with Computerized system, PLCs, heaters, proximity switches, sensors, AC motors, inverters, servo motors, servo controllers & pneumatic systems.
Front-line on-site support and installation activities ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with customer’s expectations or specifications.
