Group and Incentives Specialist - Travel Company - Sandton

Key Responsibilities:
- Creatively design and plan leisure group itineraries (incentive-specific experience advantageous).
- Understand and apply specific requirements for group itineraries, including general group policies.
- Manage the reservations process, ensuring group requirements align with their budget.
- Maintain timely response lead times as per standard operating practices.
- Handle bookings from quoting to finalizing, including invoicing and travel documentation.
- Proactively upsell products and services to curate exceptional guest itineraries.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with colleagues, agents, guests, and suppliers.
- Occasional travel with groups or undertake site inspections with agents and guests.
- Good understanding of delivering excellent service to agents and guests.
- In-depth knowledge of Tourplan or a similar booking system.
- Extensive geographical, logistical, and product knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, and Kenya.
- Additional experience in Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique is advantageous.
- Willingness and aptitude to learn and adapt.
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Effective time and desk management.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and take initiative.
- Understanding of the travel industry, preferably tour operating.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Ability to elaborate in writing explanations or descriptions.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Professional and composed manner when servicing agents and guests.
- Independent, curious, and solution-oriented approach.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in touring groups.
