Group & Incentives Travel Specialist | Luxury Travel Group

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Groups & Incentives Travel Specialist to join a leading travel company based in Sandton, Johannesburg. This is a permanent position offering a market-related salary, where you will play a key role in crafting exceptional group itineraries and delivering unforgettable travel experiences.
Position Overview: As the Groups & Incentives Travel Specialist, you will be responsible for creatively planning and designing leisure group itineraries, with a particular focus on incentive travel. Your role will involve managing the entire reservations process, from initial inquiry to finalizing bookings, ensuring that each group’s unique needs are met within their budget. You will be the driving force behind delivering exceptional service, consistently interacting with agents, guests, and suppliers to create seamless and memorable travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Creatively plan and design leisure group itineraries, with a focus on incentive travel experiences.
Understand and manage specific requirements for group travel, including policies and logistics.
Oversee the reservations process, from qualifying the group’s needs to finalizing bookings and preparing travel documents.
Ensure timely responses to inquiries, adhering to standard operating practices.
Proactively sell products and services to craft the best possible itineraries for guests.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with colleagues, agents, guests, and suppliers.
Uphold the company’s core values: Care of the people, Care of the land, and Care of the wildlife.
Occasionally travel with groups or conduct site inspections with agents and guests.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

A strong understanding of delivering exceptional service to agents and guests.
In-depth knowledge of Tourplan or similar booking systems.
Comprehensive geographical, logistical, and product knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Additional experience in Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique is advantageous.
At least 3 years of experience in touring groups, with specific expertise in this area.

Skills Required:

Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English (both spoken and written).
Effective time and desk management, with the ability to work in an orderly and focused manner.
Ability to work under pressure, show initiative, and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and customer-focused mindset.
Proficiency in Word and Excel, with strong computer literacy.
A calm and professional demeanor when servicing agents and guests.
A curious, independent, and proactive approach to work.
