Exciting Opportunity for a Big 5 Game Lodge Manager – Join the Adventure!
Kendrick Recruitment is thrilled to be searching for a dynamic Lodge Manager to oversee the operations of a luxury Big 5 Game Lodge in the heart of KZN, South Africa (midway between Johannesburg and Durban). If you’ve got exceptional leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a knack for delivering unforgettable experiences, this could be the perfect role for you!
What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading operations of a prestigious, established game lodge with a team of 25+ staff members.
Overseeing guest relations, ensuring every visitor enjoys the ultimate safari experience.
Managing the staff – from training to performance, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Supervising stock control, equipment management, and maintaining high standards in every department.
Budgeting and ensuring operational costs remain in check.
Taking part in hands-on maintenance for the property – including vehicles, solar systems, fences, and more.
Reporting directly to the non-resident owner and executive members.
Creating a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere for guests, maintaining top standards in Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and guest services.

What We’re Looking For:

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position at a 4-5 star bush lodge.
A mature and well-presented individual who leads by example.
Passion for hospitality – you must love making guests feel at home!
Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Afrikaans and Zulu is a plus.
Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and training a large team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure.
Hands-on and proactive – able to handle all aspects of lodge operations, from guest check-ins to property maintenance.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to keep everything running smoothly.
Guest-centric attitude with an eye for detail and high service standards.
Familiarity with staff/HR management (BCEA, LRA knowledge an advantage).

Package & Perks:

Salary dependent on experience, with live-in accommodation and food provided while on duty.
No dependents or pets allowed on site.
7 days off a month and 21 consecutive days annual leave.
Annual bonus based on achieving performance targets.
