Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions and supporting the overall HR strategy. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a diverse range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with South African labor laws.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations and onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related queries and concerns.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and handle employee grievances in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performance Management:
  • Support performance appraisal processes and provide guidance to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
  • Compliance and Legal:
  • Ensure compliance with South African labor laws and regulations, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and others.
  • Maintain and update employee records and documentation in line with legal requirements.
  • Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and assist in the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Support employees in their career development and professional growth.
  • HR Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and databases.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Employee Benefits and Compensation:
  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure that compensation practices are aligned with industry standards and company policies.
  • Organizational Culture:
  • Promote and support company values and culture through various HR initiatives and programs.
  • Organize and participate in employee engagement activities and events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on generalist functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll administration.
  • Certification from a recognized HR body (e.g., SABPP) is a plus.
  • Multilingual abilities can be advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
