Job Title: Assistant Marketing Manager
Location: Cape town, South Africa
Reports To: Marketing Manager
Job Summary:
The Assistant Marketing Manager supports the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and support sales growth. This role involves coordinating marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, managing digital and traditional marketing channels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Management: Assist in planning, executing, and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, email, print, and events.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify market trends, target audience preferences, and competitive landscape; use insights to recommend new marketing strategies.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistency of the brand voice, message, and visual identity across all marketing materials and channels.
- Content Development: Collaborate with content creators and graphic designers to produce engaging content for social media, email, blogs, and websites.
- Social Media Management: Oversee social media strategies, content calendar, and community management to drive audience growth and engagement.
- Digital Marketing: Support SEO, SEM, and online advertising campaigns, analyze performance, and recommend optimization strategies.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing events, webinars, and trade shows; manage event logistics, promotions, and post-event follow-up.
- Data Analysis: Monitor campaign performance metrics and KPIs (e.g., CTR, conversion rates, ROI); prepare reports and provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Creative) to align marketing initiatives with overall business goals.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the marketing budget, track expenses, and ensure campaigns are delivered within budget.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external agencies, vendors, and suppliers to coordinate marketing materials, media buys, and promotional activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on campaign management, digital marketing, and brand strategy.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, Ad Words, SEO, SEM, email marketing platforms, etc.).
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Linked In)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends.
- Experience with content creation and visual design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
