We are seeking a Junior Logistics Controller with experience in Africa to our client in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of our company's international logistics operations into Africa. The ideal candidate should have a background in logistics and supply chain management, as well as a good understanding of the African market and customs regulations with in a Maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating and executing all aspects of our company's export logistics operations.

• Managing and monitoring the transportation of goods from the point of origin to the final destination.

• Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure timely delivery of goods.

• Supporting traders by finding the most cost-effective solution to transport cargo.

• Providing support to the senior logistics team as required.

• Maintaining accurate records of shipments, including customs documentation and transportation costs.

• Conducting market research and analysis to stay up to date with the African market and customs regulations.

• Knowledge of pre-shipment inspection requirements for African countries will be advantageous.

• Identifying and resolving any logistical issues that may arise during the transportation process

• Managing and tracking shipments to ensure clients are notified of any delays affecting on-time delivery.

• Preparing and presenting reports on export logistics activities as required.

• Updating ERP documentation from order to final invoice posting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field

• At least 2 years of experience in export logistics, preferably in an African context

• Knowledge of African customs regulations and import/export laws advantageous

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel – Moderate to Advanced skills

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Portuguese & French advantageous
