Lecturer (College of Business & Economics: Department of Industrial Psychology & People Management)

The incumbent will be expected to:
-
Teaching and learning: Delivering engaging and informative lectures on various Human Resource Management modules, catering to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Designing assessments and grading student work accurately and promptly. - Research: Engaging in extensive research within the broad fields of Human Resource Management, contributing to the development of new knowledge and advancements in the discipline.
- Research Pipeline: Establishing and maintaining a steady research pipeline to ensure consistent and impactful contributions to the academic community.
- Professional Partnerships: Cultivating and nurturing professional relationships with industry partners to facilitate collaboration, internships, and research opportunities for students and the department.
- Student Supervision: Providing guidance and supervision to Postgraduate students at Honours and Masters levels, fostering their academic and research growth.
- Academic Administration: Assisting in academic administrative tasks and contributing to the efficient functioning of the department.
- Committee Participation: Active involvement in departmental and college-level committees, sharing expertise and contributing to the decision-making process.
- Leadership Support: Contributing to academic leadership initiatives within the department.
- A relevant Master’s degree in Human Resource Management / Employment Relations / Industrial Psychology (or the equivalent thereof).
- Lecturing experience in either Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology and related subjects at a reputable higher education institution.
- Knowledge of the online learning environment and ability to use and lecture on an online learner management system, e.g., Moodle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed quantitative and qualitative methodology skills

- Currently enrolled/completing a Ph D in Human Resource Management (or the equivalent thereof).
- Professional registration with the South African Board for People Practices is advantageous.
- Able to lecture online.
- Knowledge of the online learning environment
- Evidence of visibility within the academic community
- Supervised research projects of postgraduate students successfully at Honours and Masters levels
- Articulate in quantitative and/or qualitative methodology skills.
- Engagement in and a record of DHET accredited research publications and presentations at conferences.
