SALARY: R1 064 753,95 per annum (Level 12) (An All-Inclusive salary package)
CENTRE: OFFICE OF THE VALUER-GENERAL (PRETORIA)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Develop and manage the OVG’s financial plans, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adhere to financial regulations and policies, and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards. Monitor and optimise cash flows, manage financial transactions, and ensure adequate liquidity to support the OVG’s operations. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making, and assess the financial implications of property valuations and related activities. Identify and mitigate financial risks, establish, and maintain robust internal controls, and ensure the safeguarding of OVG’s financial assets. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as auditors, government bodies, and partners, to support financial transparency, address queries and maintain positive relationships. Lead and guide the financial management team, foster collaborative work environment, provide mentorship, and promote continuous professional development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (NQF 7). Job Related Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial management or accounting in a public sector or government environment. 2 years’ experience at Management Level, managing financial accounting operations. Leadership experience in managing financial teams or projects. At least 3 years Case Ware experience. At least 3 years GRAP standards practical experience. Job Related Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of Government priorities and imperatives. The PFMA and regulations, and other relevant legislation – e.g., the National Strategic Intelligence Act; the National Archives of South Africa Act; the Promotion of Access to Information Act. Performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks, systems, and processes. Relevant legislation and regulatory requirements namely PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Frameworks on performance information and strategic plans. Communications and information management legislative requirements. Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and relevant legislation governing land reform. All Public Service systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
