Position Details:

- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within the scope of the registered nurse role.
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and monitor individualized care plans tailored to residents’ needs, including medication management.
- Participate in the creation and ongoing updates of individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team and residents’ families during care conferences.
- Administer and monitor oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and PRN medications following facility protocols.
- Supervise Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Care Workers (CW), providing direction and delegating tasks to ensure the delivery of quality care.
- Perform nursing interventions and procedures, regularly evaluating their effectiveness to ensure optimal patient care.
- Process new resident admissions and handle discharges in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-free environment for residents and staff by adhering to health and safety protocols, including infection control and emergency procedures.
- Report to and collaborate with the Nursing Manager or Director of Nursing on all aspects of patient care and other related duties.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- Degree or diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Prior experience in geriatric or elderly care is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience in South Africa is advantageous.
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: R115,00 - R135,00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
