Purpose of the Position

• To manage the financial aspects of Super Sport productions. The role involves overseeing the financial operations, tracking expenses, ensuring compliance with budgets, and providing financial insights to help production teams make informed decisions.

Key Performance Areas Financial Management

• Work with the Production department, including the Head of Production, to help make financial decisions.
• Prepare and Manage production budgets
• Review and sign off financial aspects pertaining to contract approvals
• Provide ongoing feedback and escalate issues relating to financial performance of productions
• Manage, review and evaluate event/production budget proposals and quotes.
• Review of monthly payroll submissions and reconciliation of payroll.
• Monitor monthly performance of productions against budget and escalate issues identified

Cost analysis and Reporting

• Determine reasonability of variable payroll costs (such as freelancer and overtime costs) and understand these costs in relation to operational workload. To ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Overseeing of monthly cater card submissions.
• Analyse monthly expenses in detail. Investigate and interpret variances against budget/forecast and provide analysis of differences. Assist line managers in exploring potential problem areas
• Prepare financial reports, cost analyses, and budget updates for production executives and management teams.
• Manage the reporting process and compliance in the production environment:

  ? Variance analysis
  ? Reporting on cost savings
  ? Preparation of budgets and forecast
  ? Costing and recoveries
  ? Presentation of quarterly and half-year reviews
  

Compliance and Auditing

• Reviewing and approving expenses, ensuring that they are properly documented, supported by receipts, and in line with budgetary guidelines.
• Research and analysis of statutory laws and industry related requirements to keep processes and information resources up to date.
• Identify process and policy gaps within the Production environment and design and implement new processes and policies where required.
• Basic knowledge of transfer pricing and rules around permanent establishments for Rest of Africa productions.
• Drafting of applications and reporting to the South African Reserve Bank on Rest of Africa Productions.
• Addressing audit inquiries and ensuring that audit findings are appropriately addressed.
• Manage forensic auditors with queries relating to production processes both internally and externally.
• Generating reports and summaries that communicate financial compliance status to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensuring that proper records and filing systems are maintained within the department.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborating with the broader finance and accounting teams to align production accounting practices with organizational standards.
• Collaborating with the production team and managers to understand their financial needs and goals for the productions and projects.
• Addressing financial queries and concerns from talent and crew members, such as payroll issues or expense reimbursements.
• Providing regular financial updates, budget reports, and cost analyses to help guide decision- making throughout productions.

• BCom Accounting degree

Experience / Skills

• Has 4 years’ experience in a Finance Operations role.
• Sports production knowledge and experience advantageous
• Strong finance and administration skills
• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications), advanced excel
• SAP & Coupa experience
