Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader for our Universal Banking division in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and motivating a team of banking professionals, ensuring the delivery of exceptional universal banking services to our diverse clientele.

Lead and manage a team of universal banking professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Oversee the delivery of a comprehensive range of banking products and services, including retail, commercial, and investment banking offerings
Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and expand our client base
Monitor team performance, set targets, and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members
Ensure compliance with all relevant banking regulations and internal policies
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall banking operations
Resolve complex customer issues and maintain strong relationships with key clients
Contribute to the development and implementation of new banking products and services
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field

Experience

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a proven track record in team leadership
Minimum 3 - 5 years managing and driving a sales team
Comprehensive knowledge of universal banking products and services
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in the banking sector
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
Proven analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
Proficiency in banking software and systems
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Professional banking certifications (e.g., Chartered Banker, Certified Banking & Credit Analyst) are highly desirable
Fluency in English; knowledge of other South African languages would be advantageous
