Legal Intern

Arnold & Porter's office in Seoul, South Korea provides counsel to a range of clients with respect to cross-border intellectual property, M&A, export control, US litigation, antitrust, international arbitration, and international trade matters. Our team in Seoul provides counsel to some of Korea's top companies before US federal and state courts and in arbitration, as well as advising on their operations in the United States and other international markets.
The Arnold & Porter Seoul Office Intern Program is designed to allow interns to understand firsthand the variety of services that our attorneys provide for their clients. Under the supervision of the attorneys in our Seoul office, interns will work on a variety of tasks including but not limited to, observing law firm practice, and learning about various legal proceedings and transactions. Interns may attend firm seminars and training programs on legal issues and international legal issues, and actively observe cases in their areas of practice, including attending client meetings, hearings, strategy sessions and reviewing relevant case documents. Interns may also undertake legal research. The firm hires interns throughout the year. Interns spend approximately three months at the firm and receive a monthly stipend.
Applicants must have obtained or must be pursuing a JD degree from an ABA accredited program at a US law school or a law degree from a Korean law school, and should possess fluent oral and written English and Korean language skills. Ideal applicants should have a record of outstanding academic achievement, superior writing and analytical skills, relevant work experience, and participation in law review, journals, clinical legal work, and/or extracurricular activities. We are only able to consider applicants who hold a South Korean residency status or valid work permit in South Korea, and are able to physically work in our Seoul office.
