What will you need as a successful Bioinformatician?

We are seeking for a Bioinformatician, based in Valencia, Spain
What are you accountable for achieving?
- Participate in the daily clinical bioinformatics workflow such as DNA-seq and RNA-seq data analysis.
- Analyze the clinical data for the validation of new Next Generation Sequencing tests.
- Assist with preparation of validation summaries of the new Next Generation Sequencing tests.
- Assist in developing analysis pipelines for Next Generation Sequencing tests.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates and technical partners.
- Communicate technical ideas and direction across the organization with a focus on problem solving.
What will you need as a successful Bioinformatician?
- Degree in computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- R and/or Python programming skills.
- Experience in Linux, development of scripts and advanced use of the command line.
- Experience in analysis of NGS data.
- Experience with Illumina sequencing data.
- High level of spoken and written English.
- Familiarity with software engineering and algorithms
- Preferentially located in Valencia (Spain).
- Familiarity with processing genotyping/variant calling, RNAseq/transcriptome analysis.
- Machine learning/deep learning.
- General software development principles.
- Containerisation e.g. Docker, Singularity.
- Git, Git Hub and Gitflow.
- Reproductive health .
