European Product Manager

The Product Manager is responsible for developing and managing FIT product (hotels and tour experiences) in assigned European countries and maintaining strong relationships with local DMC partners in destinations. The Product Manager is responsible for improving existing products and developing new products that fit within the Avanti brand. Destinations will be developed based on your industry experience and contact with suppliers. You will act as the ´´Champion´´ for your areas and take responsibility for passionately and proactively promoting both products and destinations internally and externally. The Product Manager will work closely with the Marketing Department, Web Departments and Training Departments to ensure products are presented and promoted correctly.
The role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to multitask. As the primary point of contact for DMC partners, the Product Manager will help resolve any internal operational issues and work together with the operational departments to ensure the seamless delivery of tour components to customers and that the Avanti standards are adhered to.

- Manage and grow DMC relationships, with frequent virtual meetings.
- Develop a well-balanced and exciting product range of unique and special products and experiences.
- Continual review of the performance of products with DMCs, and competitor analysis, ensuring sufficient product availability, competitive pricing and flexible terms and condition.
- Responsibility for monitoring product to ensure it meets the Avanti standards, reviewing operational and customer feedback and hold supplier accountable when required.
- Manage supplier tariffs, review prices, and ensure details are received and entered in a timely manner ahead of peak booking season.
- Understand, as necessary, aspects of data entry of new and existing product maintenance. Regular monitoring and archiving of products no longer on sale.
- Build product in Company’s proprietary software program (Tourgate) using the product loading template. Maintains product information in Tourgate and in the Avanti Sales Platform (ASP).
- Design and build interesting and experiential itineraries for Avanti´s ´Recommended Vacation´ programs.
- Support frontline reservations when directed and needed, especially during peak booking season.
- Collaborate and support operational teams when issues arise. Resolving cases with the DMC such as booking errors by either the supplier or Avanti, customer relations issues, Land confirmations, Res supervisors, Sales reps and billing issues from Accounting)
- Support Training Team with information on new products for sale. If required, plan and delivery internal product training, to Res staff, either in person or via a web-based platform.
- Close collaboration with Marketing team to ensure products and destinations are showcased. Selecting new and inspirational product content to be promoted via marketing campaigns, emails, destination e-brochures, tourist board campaigns. Proofing material before being released.
- Provide content and assist in presenting in live destination webinars to Travel Agents in conjunction with Marketing team and Tourist Boards. When required will work with local and national tourist offices to further promote Avanti Products.
- Design and organization of familiarization tours for internal employees and Travel Agents to showcase the highlights of the products for the region.
- Attend overseas travel trade shows and other industry events as necessary to represent Avanti and continually research and develop products and relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent presentation, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in English.
- Must be able to work and communicate to multiple stakeholders in a multilingual environment.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to solve business challenges.
- Ability to exercise tact and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability and confidence to passionately train staff on destinations and products when required.
- Excellent team player with a positive can-do attitude and flexible approach.
- Must be prepared to work with initiative and under deadline.
- Ability to prioritize and organize own work and deliver on multiple priorities in a timely manner.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast-paced environment that is continually changing.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office skills using Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Accurate and complete information about Company products and services is provided to customers.
- Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and with management. Appropriate assistance is provided to area staff as needed. Supervisor is informed of activities.
