The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Engineer to join our high voltage gas-insulated switchgear engineering team. This role involves supporting project planning, design, and implementation activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical or mechanical engineering, a keen interest in high voltage technology, and a desire to grow within the industry. Join our team!
How you will make an impact

Assist in the execution of customer projects and work together with lead engineers during different project phases
-
Support the design of gas-insulated switchgear systems, including single-line diagrams and layout drawings
-
Prepare and maintain project documentation in line with the applicable standards and customer specifications
-
Handle various supporting tasks within the engineering department, for example support in the creation of internal documentation and engineering guidelines

Process special material orders from R&D according to the defined process

Contribute to continuous learning and improvement through analyzing quality issues and supporting the implementation of improvements

Assist in troubleshooting and resolve technical issues to ensure project success

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Switzerland and India, for example engineering, project management, sales, supply chain management or production

Occasional travel to customer meetings or site visits
Your background
-
Technical qualification in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
-
At least two years of experience in high-voltage switchgear engineering is highly desirable
-
Proficiency with 2D and 3D design software (for example Creo, Auto CAD)

Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP
-
Independent, structured, and collaborative way of working with a strong ability to work in an international team environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Fluency in German and English, other languages would be a plus

Good communication skills for participating in technical discussions, both internally and externally with customers and suppliers
