As a Kitchen Steward aboard the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, you play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our world-class kitchen. You will work closely with the culinary team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, helping to create unforgettable, luxurious dining experiences for our guests. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishware, supporting the chefs in delivering excellence. Primary Responsibilities Include:

Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation by washing and properly storing all dishes, utensils, kitchen tools, and equipment.
Ensure that the kitchen remains tidy and organized by arranging dishware, cookware, and utensils in their designated storage areas.
Assist the culinary team by cleaning and preparing kitchen equipment and areas, making sure they are ready for use.
Manage and dispose of kitchen waste according to guidelines, ensuring that recycling, composting, and disposal processes are followed correctly.

Requirements

Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role within a high-end restaurant, hotel, or luxury environment is preferred.
Strong focus on cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively during peak service hours.
Knowledge of and adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Travelling extensively across Europe
European or Swiss passport
Conversational in English, a basic comprehension of Italian and French
