We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a Ph D in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Molecular Biology, or Life Sciences. In this role, you will identify scientific opportunities in the Pharma industry for dsm-firmenich ingredients, design and guide preclinical research in biological model systems, actively lead scientific projects, collaborate with external partners & customers, and translate complex scientific concepts into the Pharma segment. Your key responsibilities

• Plan, design, conduct, and evaluate preclinical and human clinical studies to explore and support the potential of DSM HNC Products according to internal company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to R&D and innovation strategy in the Pharma segment
• Design and provide scientific solutions to various projects and to business support.
• Identify scientific technologies as needed and make them accessible for use in projects or business support.
• Represent the strong scientific impact in the Pharma segment and in project teams.
• Represent dsm-firmenich Pharma segment in external world through attendance of customer workshops and meetings, conferences, trade fairs, etc

You bring

• Ph D degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Molecular Biology, or Life Sciences.
• Comprehensive expertise in pharmaceutical industry and science, including the development, manufacturing, and characterization of biologics as well as a broad understanding of various pharmaceutical science disciplines.
• In-depth knowledge of biological models, including cell culture as well as an in depth understanding of biological mechanisms, with the ability to evaluate new opportunities and trends with an experienced team and to generate differentiated solutions based on new scientific insights.
• Specific subject matter expertise in the areas of vitamin chemistry & biology, antioxidant chemistry, formulation science or immune cell biology is a plus
• Proven experience in team collaboration, including handling external partners and setting up collaborations with other companies or academic institutions. Experience working in teams in a company R&D environment will be a considerably strong asset.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate scientific concepts clearly.
• Strong project management skills, including setting priorities and defining timelines.
• Inquisitive and creative mindset with the ability to act pro-actively and shape research designs
