The Molecular Lab PCR Development Network of Roche Diagnostics Solutions is responsible for all activities related to diagnostic systems based on PCR and sequencing technologies. The Hardware Development chapter engineers instruments and high-end analytical modules.
The Sub Chapter Thermal Solutions develops and maintains mechatronic heating and cooling units integrated into such instruments. Because quality matters and temperature is no coincidence we make temperature controllable. To further strengthen our capabilities, we are looking for a Senior Development Engineer with core competencies in Thermal Engineering.

THE OPPORTUNITY

• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, electronics engineers and optics engineers, for concept studies and development. Integrate innovative thermal solutions into mechatronic heating and cooling units.
  
• Conduct thermal modelling and simulation using advanced computational tools.
  
• Develop and implement experimental setups for thermal testing and validation.
  
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to guide design decisions and improve product performance. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings and recommendations.
  
• Create and update manufacturing documents, technical documentation and project deliverables for product development and product care activities.
  
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in thermal engineering technologies and initiate feasibility studies in order to optimize thermal systems and components.
  

WHO YOU ARE

You bring the following profile:

• Bachelor or Master in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on thermal sciences and a minimum of 5 years experience in research or development roles where thermodynamics, thermal materials and thermal simulation skills were required.
  
• Proficiency in thermal modelling software (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL).
  
• Strong analytical skills and experience with experimental techniques for measuring thermal properties.
  
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail and proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  
• Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a strong asset.
