Swiss Fixed-Income Salesperson, Zurich
The Citi team in Zurich is looking to hire a AVP/VP level Salesperson to work as part of its Credit Sales business, covering Swiss clients primarily for Investment Grade (IG) / High Yield (HY) / Emerging Markets (EM). The role is based in Zurich.

As a key member of the Swiss Credit sales team, you will work within a team of salespeople working closely with traders, analysts and syndicate to build and maintain relationships with dedicated Credit Clients based in Switzerland.

This is a rare opportunity, with immediate exposure to all of the desk’s top tier clients as well as opportunity to significantly increase revenues with some of the desk’s clients as primary coverage.

Overall, the Salesperson is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team integrates with others at Citi assisting our clients meet their objectives.

What we will need from you:

• Be prepared to engage with senior stakeholders on behalf of the desk and clients, while use initiative and working autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills & ability to take on key projects for the desk as you will have to be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders in the bank as well as with clients both face-to-face and on the phone from day one.
• Have had a previous client facing role and be comfortable interacting with internal stakeholders and potentially senior client contacts early in your tenure.
• Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
• Work closely to understand client needs with the aim of increasing client satisfaction and Citi revenue, through the maintenance of existing relationships but also by driving new client partnerships across the franchise, driving P&L, providing market colour, and generating trade ideas.
• Lead strong governance and controls through close partnerships with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
• Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
• Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
• Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years relevant experience
• Broad client relationships preferred
• Prior Sales experience in a client facing role within a financial institution working with the buy-side community
• Self-Motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills & advanced problem solving skills
• Swiss German and/or German and /or French spoken preferred
• Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
