Lumentum is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join the Communication and Commercial Optical Products business unit. In this role, the successful candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Provide technical leadership and program direction in all aspects of manufacturing engineering, such as Process, Equipment Maintenance and Product Performance with focus on optimizing line efficiency through improved yield, cycle times, process stability and line control.
- Interface effectively with other functional teams within Lumentum such as R&D, Product Engineering and Product Line Management to validate requirements and ensure process or technology milestones are clearly defined and achieved.
- Set up and qualify assembly and inspection processes such as optical alignment, optical assembly processes.
- Issue documents such as process flow, work instruction, control plan, visual aids and SPC
- Lead team of engineers or technicians to solve instant manufacturing problems to achieve desired test results within limited time frame.
- Provide training to technician and operators.
- Supervise technicians to perform daily technical support and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance to quality assurance processes and industry best practice.
Requirements
- Bachelors, Masters or Ph D in engineering, or appropriate sciences.
- 1-5 years of experience in a fast paced electronics manufacturing environment, preferably in semiconductor or opto-electronics
- Familiarity with the problem solving and statistical process control (SPC)
- Creative thinker, with strong analytical and problem solving, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team and interact with all levels of management
- Strong leadership and inter-personal, written and oral skills
- Willing to participate in calls in multiple time zones, and occasional overseas
