We seek an experienced Database Administrator to lead database administration and cloud migration efforts. The ideal candidate will deeply understand database management systems and AWS cloud infrastructure and have experience migrating on-premises/Azure/GCP databases to AWS. This role involves planning, designing, and executing database migration projects, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance optimization.
Work location - remote from Ukraine

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Excellent knowledge of relational database management systems (SQL Server, My SQL, Postgre SQL)
• Excellent understanding of no-SQL database management systems (Mongo DB, AWS Dynamo DB)
• Expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure (RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DMS, EC2, S3, etc.)
• Experience with database migration tools and techniques
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with AWS Cloud Migration tools - advantage
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) - advantage
• Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, Bash, Power Shell) - advantage
• Open Search/Elastic Search knowledge - advantage

Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

• Manage, monitor, and maintain relational database systems (SQL Server, My SQL, Postgre SQL, etc.) and No SQL database systems (Mongo DB, AWS Dynamo DB).
• Disaster recovery planning.
• Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.

Cloud Database Migration:

• Planned and executed the migration of on-premises/Azure/GCP databases to AWS - both managed and self-hosted.
• Design and implement AWS-based database solutions, including RDS, Aurora, and Redshift.
• Develop and execute migration strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
