Introduction
Cygnets Art School Kenilworth are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable Teacher to lead our Art classes and After School Club Sessions.
Please read all the information below before applying, as this is a part-time, freelance position, and may not be suitable for everyone. Must have excellent drawing and art skills to be considered!
Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects, experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 5-13 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.
The successful candidate will lead Art classes (term time) in the Warwickshire CV7 & CV8 area, for groups of up to twenty students.
Teachers will be briefed about projects before each session, this may include access to a step-by-step video that shows a clear breakdown of the lesson. This role would suit a creative individual with a passion for Art and helping children develop their creativity. It may appeal to an artistic individual that works within a school already or an Art student. This vacancy is ideally suited to an applicant that lives in Kenilworth and surrounding areas - due to the limited hours per session. As After School Clubs run in different schools, applicants must have a car to take equipment to the sessions.
Applicants MUST have good levels of drawing skills. An Art qualification or a portfolio of work to evidence skill will be required.
Applicants aged 18 yrs and over only.
Term Time Hours:
Starting ASAP for training and to lead classes in November 2024:
Tuesdays 5-6pm , Saturdays 1.30-2.30pm (more can be given to the right candidate!)
Classes run on average for 13 weeks.
There may be extra hours available during other evenings and holiday hours for the right candidate.
Pay: £25 per hour
Necessary Requirements:
- Strong artistic skills and experience in using a variety of mediums.
- A passion for working with children, must have a positive and patient disposition.
- Excellent reliability, timekeeping and initiative.
Ideal Additional Requirements
- Experience in working with children – a current DBS and Level 1 Safeguarding training.
- A knowledge of the local area and connection to local schools.

The successful candidate will need to prove their right to work in the UK, provide two references and to undertake a DBS and
Level 1 Safeguarding training (at the cost of the employer but with a commitment from candidate to teach a minimum number of 10 sessions).
