Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Bartender to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bartending and hospitality, showcasing excellent customer service skills while creating a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and providing an exceptional experience for all guests.
Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
BEFORE SERVICE:
· Maintain high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
· Ensure all the bar is tidy, stocked on equipment needed for smooth service and everything is in place
· Ensure that all equipment is clean, properly polished and in excellent condition
· Prepare all the necessary mise en place in the bar
· Before briefing, ensure you refresh your knowledge of the menus, wine list and the vintages available
· Ensure you do your due diligence on the Members arriving that night and prepare for any special requests
· Ensure you report everything out of the ordinary to the manager on duty during the briefing, and ensure all the changes and other information given to you during the briefing, have been applied to the section you will be working on
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DURING SERVICE:
· Float between the Bar areas
· Offer suggestions with the cocktail, drinks and wine lists
· Prepare and serve all drinks in the Bar
· Always keep the Bar neat and tidy, keep refreshing nibbles for members, and offer new drinks when appropriate
· Promote the Clubs and the Dining Room events in the near future
· Entertain members with knowledge about spirits, cocktail etc.
· Ensure all charging is done in a focused manner
· Always stay on top of table maintenance and anticipate all guests needs
· Assist other sections of the Bar when busy
· Prepare all hot drinks for the Bar
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER SERVICE:
· Clear the bar and put everything in its proper place, with the right labelling
· Tidy up the bar and the still room
· Ensure all glasses and glassware are polished and stored in its place
· Assist other members of staff, with resetting the bar for next service
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND OTHER EXPECTATIONS:
· To possess good spoken English
· Have an in-depth knowledge of all the serving standards and maintaining that standard during every service
· Have an in-depth knowledge about the Bar Cocktail List
· Have a good knowledge of off-list cocktails
· Have an in-depth knowledge about all the menus that the Bar is serving
· Have an in-depth knowledge about cooking styles and techniques, wine serving and Wine list
· Have an in-depth understanding of wines, grapes, and the main wine growing regions of the world
· Have a good knowledge of the Members’ and their habits, preferences, allergies and other information
· Have in-depth knowledge off other Clubs’ departments menus’
· To be able to deal with members requests in a professional manner
· To follow up any special requests or complaints by members and liaise with the Food & Beverage Managers
