Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Butchers to join our team in our new retail outlet. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety practices and first class customer service skills. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meat products while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety in the store environment. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and have experience in a retail butchery.
The hours of work will be based on a shift system covering a 7 day / week retail operation.
Responsibilities

• Prepare and cut various types of meat according to specifications and customer requirements.
• Ensure all meat products are handled, stored, and displayed in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including tools and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste.
• Provide exceptional customer service instore answering queries regarding meat cuts and preparation methods.
• Stay updated on industry trends related to food production and culinary techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within food production or retail settings.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
• Ability to operate butchery equipment safely and effectively.
• Excellent knife skills with attention to detail in meat preparation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A passion for quality food production and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
