The Bishop of London is seeking to appoint a prayerful and pastorally sensitive priest as Chaplain.
The role is to support the Bishop in her episcopal ministry, with a particular emphasis on the pastoral and liturgical aspects and her wider commitments in the Church of England.
The ideal individual will be a natural team player, yet with the ability to work independently, being proactive in anticipating the Bishop’s needs in relation to the considerable demands of her diary. They will be adept at balancing forward planning with the urgent and immediate.
The Chaplain will have excellent interpersonal, administrative and communication skills and a high degree of cultural competence. Numerous meetings and events are held in The Old Deanery, and the Chaplain will have a warm and hospitable manner, playing a key part in offering a generous welcome.
The Chaplain’s main place of work will be The Old Deanery, Deans Court, London, EC4V 5AA.
The remuneration for this post is equivalent to incumbent status in the Diocese of London with 10% uplift. Accommodation will be discussed at the interview.
