Job Overview
We are looking for a Nursery Cook to join our team, working Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 4:45pm.
You will run a small, home-style kitchen independently, preparing healthy meals with fresh ingredients. Duties

• Prepare meals for up to 48 children aged 0-5 years
• Cook all meals using fresh ingredients with an emphasis on healthy eating
• Safely and efficiently operate domestic kitchen equipment
• Maintain a clean kitchen, adhering to health & safety standards
• Assist with cleaning and organising the kitchen and equipment
• Follow all food hygiene and safety standards
• Record food temperatures
• Clean and defrost the fridge and freezer as needed
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance in line with the company’s hygiene policy
• Order food according to the menu, children’s portion sizes, and the nursery’s ethos, organising stock in line with FIFO
• Engage with and educate children on kitchen processes and healthy eating

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Ability to work under pressure in an organised manner
• Knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs (e.g. allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences)

Opportunity
Once the contract has finished, there will be an opportunity to join our bank team to support the kitchen and nursery as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
