Nava is an independent, family run coffee house, kitchen & bar in the heart of Ringwood. As a relatively young business, we have already established ourselves as one of the most popular social spaces in the area, with amazing speciality coffee and a quality brunch menu.
We are looking for a capable full time and part time cook/chefs with commercial kitchen experience to join our friendly team. (sorry, we are unable to sponsor visa applicants)
We are a small team, so when the kitchen is quiet, you will be expected to muck in and help the baristas/waiting staff and vice versa. Barista skills would be a real benefit, but training can be given. You would be running the kitchen alone and responsible for keeping our excellent standard of hygiene, all food safety record keeping, as well as ordering all food stock and keeping food waste to a minimum.
You will need to be a calm, professional, presentable and an easy going person, passionate about food. You will care about creating delicious, beautifully presented dishes and capable of creating and costing out new, profitable menus. You will need to be a genuine team player and look out for your colleagues as they will look out for you. We are a friendly team, if you are Chef that expects/creates a hostile kitchen environment, this role definitely isn't for you!

Job Duties:

• Plan, cost out and implement creative, innovative and profitable menus
• Order and carefully manage all produce for the shop, minimising wastage
• Prepare delicious, healthy and visually attractive meals in a timely manner
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards, accommodating unexpected EHO visits
• Maintaining records, checking and recording temperatures
• Maintain an impeccably clean & efficient kitchen
• Able to work well at busy times, independently and with the team

Service Charge

• We apply an optional service charge to food orders and this is shared with all staff and is usually a significant uplift on take home pay.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
