Are you an experienced Counsellor, Counselling Psychologist or Social Worker with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing and delivering exceptional services to palliative care patients and their loved ones?
We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester, offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness.
The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we provide psychosocial services to over 300 people per year.
Leading at St Wilfrid’s
This role leads and develops our psychosocial services, which are delivered by a dedicated team of employees and volunteers across counselling, social work, chaplaincy and bereavement support. You will also use your clinical skills to work with your own caseload of patients and their loved ones at the Hospice and in the community.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our services are designed to meet the needs of the people we serve, and high quality interventions are delivered at this crucial time in the lives of our patients and their loved ones.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Counsellor, Counselling Psychologist, or Social Worker, registered with a relevant membership body (e.g. BACP, NCPS, UKCP) or with the HCPC.
  • Post-qualification experience of at least 4 years
  • Experience of leading a therapeutic service.
  • Direct experience or transferable skills applicable to palliative care
  • Experience of robust service evaluation including the use of outcome measures.
  • Good understanding of a range of disciplines (counselling, social work and other therapies) and ability to bring this to life in leading a multidisciplinary team.
