We are seeking a Credit Controller to assist the revenue manager and the wider Finance Team, whilst the position is based out of our Peterborough office, we can offer the role as a hybrid role, with some travel to our Carter Lane office with the finance team and the wider Team. You will have previous experience in Credit Control, with both volume and high value, we are seeking a tenacious individual who is looking to gain further experience within the niche of legal finance. We offer a competitive remuneration, hybrid working once training and induction programme completed, 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 17.00pm.
The Credit Controller will work closely with the Revenue Manager to collect cash across the firm and to help oversee the management of WIP. Significant capital balances are locked up in debtors and WIP. These need to be properly managed to maximise the collection of cash, to minimise the bad debts and provide accurate monthly financial results.
Working collaboratively with busy fee earners, help drive forward improvements to existing procedures and processes.

This role involves but is not limited to:
- Deliver a high-quality collections process to all fee earners within the business and monitor the effectiveness of the process.
- Review and manage the level of WIP in the business liaising with relevant fee earners, heads of department and financial management
- Understand the firm’s billing rules
- Support the billing write off process and ensure any material amounts are brought to the attention of the Credit Manager.
- Work with the Credit Manager in reporting within the case management system to detail the situation on a monthly basis and track progress
- Experience of credit control procedures preferably gain within a law firm
- Understanding of SRA regulations and regulatory environment
- Ability to plan and prioritise, produce high quality work while handling multiple projects
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Resilience and ability to challenge appropriately
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
