Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Operations Coordinator to join our team and oversee both sea and air freight operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods via sea and air routes. This role will require expertise in customs clearance procedures and documentation, as well as a strong understanding of international shipping regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of sea and air freight operations, including booking, customs documentation, tracking, and delivery.
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and other service providers to ensure smooth and efficient transportation of goods.
- Prepare and process customs clearance documentation, including import/export declarations, permits, licenses, and certificates.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Monitor and manage freight costs, negotiate rates with carriers, and optimize shipping routes to minimize expenses.
- Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to freight shipments, customs clearance, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, customer service, and warehousing, to coordinate logistics activities and meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs documentation, and compliance-related information.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics and customs clearance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, or supply chain management, with a focus on sea and air freight.
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and documentation requirements for both import and export shipments.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, INCO terms, and customs compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office applications.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and data.
- Certification or training in customs brokerage or freight forwarding is a plus.
