Overview
As a Migration Specialist, you will oversee and execute the migration of data, applications, and systems from legacy environments to modern platforms. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing migrations with minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
Duties
- Assess existing systems, databases, and applications to develop migration strategies.
- Plan and manage the end-to-end migration process, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Perform data migration, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security during the process.
- Test and validate migrated data and systems to ensure successful transition.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that infrastructure supports the migration.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and provide post-migration support.
- Document migration procedures, configurations, and changes.
- Work with stakeholders to minimize disruptions and manage expectations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Skills
- Experience in data and application migration projects.
- Strong understanding of legacy and modern systems, databases, and platforms.
- Proficiency in migration tools and techniques (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate).
- Familiarity with data transformation and mapping techniques.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex migration issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance issues related to data migration.
Pay: £25.00-£45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 45 per week
