Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Assistant / Graduate Technologist to join the NPD Team at Fresh-Pak Chilled Foods at our Barnsley facility.
Working within the NPD team, the Development Assistant will assist the Senior Concept Technologist in projects on specific allocated accounts, complete key day to day tasks in the management of the NPD kitchen and provide support to the wider NPD team when required.
Key responsibilities will include:
· All tasks to be carried out in a consistent manner with the organisation's culture.
· Support the Senior Concept Technologist and Manager to deliver the Site Product Development Plan.
· Carrying out regular benchmarking sessions to ensure targets are being adhered to.
· Support in the development of products in response to customer briefs and working proactively on innovation for future briefs.
· Support the concept to launch process-focusing on the concept stages before product sign off.
· Stock control of NPD areas within the business.
· Collect ingredients & packaging needed for the NPD kitchen as required
· Maintain clear and tidy NPD pallets in goods in, the goods in freezer and despatch with help where required
· General hygiene and upkeep of NPD kitchen and storage areas required.
· Assist with packing up, labelling, boxing and sending out of samples to all customers as required.
· Making up of samples in the NPD kitchen under supervision of Senior Concept Technologist / other Concept Technologists.
· Ad hoc assistance to Process NPD team in gathering of trial samples, organising lab samples
· Participate in ad hoc business projects as required.
·Key skills/experience required:
· Basic IT skills – able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Organisational and time-management skills
· Attention to detail (Right First Time)
· Strong Team player
· Degree in Food related discipline (Desirable)
· HACCP Level 2 Qualification (Desirable)
· Experience working in a food manufacturing business, preferably within NPD (Desirable)
· Understanding of food manufacturing and factory processes
· Passionate about food

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
