Our 'outstanding' (Ofsted, 2023) family assessment centre has an amazing team of friendly, supportive and skilled Family Support Workers, as well as a committed and experienced multi-disciplinary team.
This role involves supporting families experiencing a range of complex difficulties at a key time in their lives when they require intensive and round the clock support.

The Organisation:
Orchard House is a well-established family assessment service in Somerset providing evidence based residential parenting assessments for families throughout the UK. Orchard House has an Outstanding Ofsted rating and is a nationally recognised service. First and foremost, we are a safeguarding organisation.
We are recruiting additional Family Support Workers to join our committed and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team - you are able to work on a full or part time basis- please note that you will be expected to work every other weekend, and at least one waking night per fortnight.
We offer competitive rates of pay and, along with peer support and the opportunity to work as part of a team, you will receive supervision and excellent training organised by our experienced Assessment Team to develop and build upon your existing skills.

- Supporting parents to implement parenting interventions and develop the skills necessary to look after their children, for example by encouraging, teaching and modelling
- Caring for and safeguarding babies and young children
- Providing sensitive feedback
- Making observations both in person and via CCTV
- Recording accurate and objective written information to inform assessments

- Demonstrate commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
- Be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with children and adults.
- Build good working relationships with families who may initially be reluctant to accept support.
- Hold a relevant qualification or be willing to work towards this. Orchard House will fund a Children and Young People's Workforce Level 3 course for successful candidates who do not hold an equivalent qualification.
