First Aider - Term time
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, friendly and enthusiastic First Aider to support students and staff who are injured or become unwell during the course of the school day. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will work as part of the reception team and take a lead role for first aid across the campus. This will include the administration of individual pupil health plans, maintaining relevant records, ensuring medical equipment and first aid kits are operational and liaising with parents/carers & staff regarding student medical needs. This role requires somebody with strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a cheerful, friendly and compassionate disposition.

Main duties and responsibilities
- To develop/review current practices/systems for First Aid within the reception team
- To provide First Aid response to staff and students who are injured or become unwell during the course of the school day, with the aim to keep children in lessons learning
- To be the point of contact for informing parents/carers or next of kin of illness or injury
- To undertake First Aid training and keep up to date on relevant training, such as asthma response, Epi Pen training.
- To support the administration of the school immunisation programme with the Office Manager and Operations Manager
- To write, contribute, communicate and monitor Education Healthcare Plans for those with medical needs alongside the safeguarding and SEN team
- To liaise with the safeguarding team regarding issues relating to safeguarding of students, and ensure that concerns are logged on the school CPOMS system
- To assist the Attendance Manager with first day calling, attendance meetings, and communication with home for those absences relating to medical issues
- To dispense medication and liaise with parents and carers on the administration of medicines to ensure that students can continue in lessons and learning
- To maintain relevant records and proforma, and ensure that medical equipment and First Aid kits are operational
- Where necessary to contact the emergency medical services
- To work as part of the reception team, and likewise, they are part of the First Aid response team
