Forest School Leader

About the Role:
As the Bushcraft & Forest Lead, you will manage and lead the delivery of our forest provision, ‘The Paddock’. Located in West Berkshire, this magical space is designed to capture young people’s curiosity for learning. You will work with our forest learning mentor to develop and deliver bespoke sessions for children aged 6-17, utilizing the great outdoors to teach survival skills, outdoor education, archery, arts and crafts, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver exciting, varied lesson plans for outdoor learning tailored to each child’s needs.
- Support team members in developing outdoor activities.
- Oversee the forest provision, ensuring daily health and safety checks, fire reports, and risk assessments are completed.
- Manage resources and budget for sessions.
- Track and report on each young person’s progress.
- Work within safeguarding processes and train as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
- Collaborate with Haywards Farm School and other stakeholders to enhance the curriculum.
We are looking for someone passionate about improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners and enhancing the quality of learning. You should have experience in therapeutic or educational settings (SEN experience is a plus), team leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
