Full-Time Support Worker/Carer

We are looking for Support Worker/Carer who care about making every moment matter for the people we support in our residential service.
Position: Support Worker/Carer
Location: Telford (TF3 postcode)
Hours: Full Time hours available (35 hours per week)
Shifts: Mixture of 7.30am - 2.30pm and 2.30pm - 9.30pm including weekends.
Salary: £12.00 per hour

About Baylis Place
Highmount is a bespoke home for 8 people, providing tailored support to those with learning disabilities, autism, dementia and other complex needs. The team at High Mount are passionate about ensuring the people we support are given every opportunity to live an active and fulfilled life. Our focus in the service is understanding the complex needs of each person, how this impacts them daily and empowering them to take positive risks to enrich their lives.
About you
Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?
You will need to be adaptable, flexible, with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team. Ideally you will have:
  • Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities
  • Hold or be willing to work towards your Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • Do you hold an existing Co S?

The Role
  • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

You will be required to undergo relevant pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
