Role summary:
This is an amazing opportunity to join STRI’s expanding technical design team based in Bingley, West Yorkshire. We are world leaders in the design and development of sports facilities domestically and internationally and the role of Graduate/Junior consultant will see the selected candidate become part of an experienced and dynamic design team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career in consultancy, working on a variety of projects that make a real impact in the sports industry.
Key responsibilities:
You will be required to provide proof of your identity, right to work in the UK and qualifications during the selection process. Key responsibilities:
- Conducting site investigations and feasibility studies to evaluate the practical and technical challenges involved in sports surface development projects.
- Creating sports surface design documentation for planning procurement and construction purposes.
- Overseeing sports surface construction to ensure quality standards are met.
- Undertaking visits to provide advice and support to sports facilities, from community-level surfaces to elite professional sports environments.
- Undertaking sports surface performance testing using specialised equipment.
- Collaborating with a diverse range of clients, including architects, engineers, governing bodies, professional sports clubs, and community organisations.
- A recent graduate with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Agriculture, Horticulture, Sportsturf/Turfgrass Science, Physical Geography or other related disciplines).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- CAD/Revit literacy beneficial.
- A passion for sports and a keen interest in sports surface design and management.
- Technically familiar with core concepts of sports surface management, such as soils, drainage, irrigation or construction techniques.
- Advantage to hold a full UK driving license
